The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) is preparing to switch from its current MiWAM system to a new platform, MiUI, in December. The agency says this move aims to provide employers and third-party administrators with a more efficient, user-friendly, and secure experience.
MiUI will officially go live on December 15, 2025. In the weeks leading up to the launch, certain functions of the outgoing MiWAM system will be phased out between November 7 and December 5. This transition period will affect services such as eRegistration, business transfers, and seasonal employer applications. Employers and third-party administrators are advised to complete any necessary tasks in MiWAM before these functions are shut down.
More information about the new system’s implementation is available through MiUI University. Those needing assistance can contact the Office of Employer Ombudsman at 1-855-484-2636 (option 4).
