Senator Elissa Slotkin, who represents Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used her social media platform to comment on several issues affecting her state, including health care policy and Michigan’s auto industry.
On October 15, 2025, Slotkin posted, "President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill is causing a health care crisis."
The following day, she addressed the significance of Michigan's auto sector, stating on October 16, 2025, "Michigan's auto industry is the lifeblood of our economy. Whenever any Big 3 auto company invests millions of dollars to create new auto jobs in my state – that’s a good day for Michigan. This announcement solidifies Stellantis’ commitment to Michigan."
Later that same day, Slotkin shared a constituent story regarding the potential impact of expiring credits on household budgets: "A retired couple from Gaylord, who are on a fixed income, told me that if https://t.co/6af0Z7VUAU credits aren’t extended, they believe their costs will go up 40 to 60 percent! Slotkin has served in Congress since 2019 and succeeded Mike Bishop. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University.
