Frank Prezzato, a 69-year-old resident of St. Clair Shores, was sentenced to six months of delayed probation after pleading guilty to voting both absentee and in-person during the August 2024 Primary Election. The sentencing was announced by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
Prezzato admitted to casting an absentee ballot and then appearing at his local polling place on Election Day to vote again. Both ballots were counted in the primary election. He faced charges of Voting Absentee and In-Person as well as Offering to Vote More Than Once, which were filed in October 2024.
Attorney General Nessel commented at the time of Prezzato’s plea: “Voting twice undermines our democratic process. My office will continue to prosecute those who violate our voting laws to ensure Michigan voters have confidence in the integrity of our elections.”
If Prezzato complies with all terms and conditions of his probation, all charges will be dismissed with prejudice when the probation period ends. A review hearing is scheduled for April 15, 2026, at the 16th Circuit Court in Macomb County.
