Small businesses in Michigan with 250 or fewer employees can now apply for grants to improve workplace safety. The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) is offering a matching grant of up to $5,000 for the purchase of equipment and training aimed at creating safer and healthier work environments.

The MIOSHA Workplace Improvement to Safety and Health (MIWISH) grant program will match employer contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to the $5,000 limit. Eligible businesses can use these funds to acquire safety and health-related equipment as well as associated training.

Applications for this new grant cycle have been open since October 1. Grants will be distributed until the allocated funds are exhausted.

Further details about the grant program and application process are available on the official website at www.michigan.gov/mioshagrants or by contacting MIOSHA’s grant administrator at 517-647-3155.
