Sen. Elissa Slotkin criticizes administration's foreign policy and raises domestic concerns

Senator Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, used her social media platform to comment on recent foreign policy decisions and domestic political concerns in early November 2025.

On November 2, Slotkin criticized the Biden Administration’s approach to allied relations with Romania, stating: "This is not how you work with allies. Romania has been our steadfast partner for decades and yet found out about the move via the news. This Administration seems hell bent on playing right into Putin's hands. Pulling back now sends a dangerous message of retreat when unity and" (November 2, 2025).

Later that day, she reflected on perseverance in American history, posting: "Don’t give up the ship. Generations of us have fought against impossible odds to build the country that we have today. I am living proof of that." (November 2, 2025).

The following morning, Slotkin raised concerns regarding former President Donald Trump’s rhetoric about his political opponents. She wrote: "Trump has laid out a whole lot of enemies that are American citizens. And if he’s willing to use lethal force against enemies abroad, what’s stopping him from using lethal force against his enemies at home? That question should chill every American to the bone." (November 3, 2025).

Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
