Senator Elissa Slotkin, who represents Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on her social media account addressing topics ranging from concerns about authoritarianism to constituent engagement and the impact of healthcare policy changes.

On November 5, 2025, Slotkin commented on public awareness regarding political systems by stating, "Americans have an internal barometer for things that sound and smell authoritarian."

Later that same day, she highlighted efforts to connect with constituents in Washington D.C., posting: "Last month, I started the tradition of holding my first constituent coffee here in DC. These serve as an opportunity for my staff and I to hear directly from Michiganders in the U.S. Capitol. If you are ever in Washington, visit https://t.co/jsO1VySZNm and stop by!" This initiative aims to facilitate direct communication between Slotkin's office and residents of Michigan.

On November 6, 2025, Slotkin shared a personal story from a constituent: "Erin is a single mom and small business owner in Wexford County. She shared her story about how the loss of financial help on her https://t.co/6af0Z7VUAU plan will impact her and her kids, resulting in a $200 a month increase." The post underscores challenges faced by individuals affected by changes in financial assistance for healthcare plans.

Slotkin has served Michigan’s 7th District since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. She was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. Slotkin earned her BA from Cornell University in 1998.
