In recognition of Veterans Day, Curtis Hertel, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party, issued a statement highlighting the significance of the holiday and acknowledging the contributions of servicemembers in Michigan and across the country.

“This Veterans Day is a reminder that our freedom and our democracy aren’t just something we have, it is something we have to fight for and protect every day—and no one understands that better than the men and women who have served our great nation. Michigan’s servicemembers, and all those veterans across the country, dedicated their lives to the promise of our country, and they deserve the very best of what we have to offer.

“Unfortunately, Republicans from DC to Lansing are constantly working to undermine veterans’ benefits. In the face of those attacks on veterans’ affairs, Michigan Democrats remain laser-focused on helping veterans and their families access the benefits they earned through their dedication and sacrifice. We owe them everything, and we will never stop fighting for them, just like they fought for us.”
