Travel Michigan won a Platinum Award for Public Relations Innovation from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) at the recent Adrian Awards for creating and marketing the first of its kind “Pure Sounds of Michigan” album on Jan. 21.
The unique “Pure Sounds of Michigan” album features 10 ambient tracks that were created by local artists who were given nature recordings from Michigan State Parks.
The tracks are designed to lure more tourists to Michigan by guiding listeners through an immersive and virtual tour of the state. Dave Lorenz, vice president of Travel Michigan, said in a press release the album is “a true love letter to the state, from the natural sounds of gentle streams and rolling waves to the Michigan artists involved, it is an honor for this initiative to be recognized by our peers in the travel industry."
The successful album that reached No. 9 on the Billboard New Age Chart was produced by Detroit-based Assemble Sound.
