City of East Lansing issued the following announcement on July 8.
A few months ago, #EastLansing Mayor Aaron Stephens joined City of Lansing, Michigan - Government Mayor Andy Schor, Emterra Environmental USA and the Foodservice Packaging Institute at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Lansing - the first of its kind in mid-Michigan!
Both cities (Lansing and East Lansing) are now hauling collected recyclables to this new, local MRF instead of the Detroit area, resulting in significant cost savings and environmental benefits!
