Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on July 23.
Superintendent Stewart outlines hiring, construction and enrollment developments
While the students might be home having fun in the summer weather, the CPS Central Office team is busy with summer work including hiring, construction, and enrollment! I thought this might be a great time to give our families some updates on our progress. If you can, take some time and visit our website www.charlotteorioles.com or our Facebook page for more frequent updates.
We are pleased to have chosen our new Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, our former CMS principal, Mr. Nick Boucher! Our interview team unanimously voiced that he was our top choice, and we are so happy to have him on our team! Mr. Boucher shared, “I am honored to take over the role of Associate Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at CPS. I graduated from Cleveland State University with degrees in Education, Biology, and Anthropology and Grand Valley State University with a masters in Educational Leadership. I’ve been in education for 17 years, most recently serving as principal of Charlotte Middle School. I’m extremely excited to help the district by supporting students and staff in all aspects of the educational process. I love the Charlotte area. It is obvious that people are proud of this community and their schools. It is this Oriole Pride lifestyle that makes this community great!” While the CMS family will miss him, I have no doubt that he will continue to do wonderful things for our students in his new role!
Bond construction work is booming this summer, with the Washington portables starting to be removed, and the work on our new tennis/pickle ball courts, concession stand, and our Agricultural Learning Center. Coming up soon will be the playground equipment additions, so drive by and take a look at the progress!
We also want to remind families that enrollment is open, and you can go to our enrollment page at or call (517) 541-5115 to make an appointment. Please know that if you enrolled in a different school program during the pandemic, you do have to enroll back in CPS to attend classes here for the 21-22 school year. We would encourage you to enroll as soon as possible, as we are looking to balance class sizes for next year. We have already posted three new teaching positions to accommodate enrollments thus far! Also note, that if you were a virtual student with us last year, you are enrolled, but you will need to contact our transportation department if you will need bussing for the 21-22 school year. You can contact them from the transportation page or call (517) 543-3400. Enjoy the rest of your summer! We are looking forward to welcoming you back on August 23, 2021!
Go Orioles! Oriole Pride!
