County of Ingham issued the following announcement on Aug 1.
Sundown Safari Camping August 14 @ 6:30 pm - August 15 @ 9:30 am
Have you ever wanted to spend the night at the zoo? Now’s your chance! Potter Park Zoo is offering an opportunity for families and small groups to come experience the zoo after dark.
On August 14, arrive at the zoo by 6:30 p.m. so you have plenty of time to set up your tent and stay all the way until 9:30 am the next morning! If you need more time to set up, you can arrive as early as 6:00 p.m.
Campers will take a guided tour of the zoo, enjoy s’mores around the campfire, watch a movie outdoors, and sleep under the stars! A continental breakfast and zoo admission the next day are included.
Participants must provide their own gear (tent, sleeping bags, etc), and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost: $35 per person (non-member price) $30 per person (member price)*
