City of East Lansing issued the following announcement on Mar 21.

Community members are advised that the Burcham Drive Water Valve Replacement Project has begun in East Lansing.

This construction project will involve spot water main valve replacement that will require intermittent closures of the Grove Street alley, from Elizabeth Street north to Burcham Drive, and on Burcham Drive, from Abbot Road to Park Lake Road. Work began today, March 21 in the Grove Street alley and will commence north to Burcham Drive, with work on Burcham Drive expected to begin by the middle of this week. The project is tentatively expected to be completed by April 22, weather permitting.

During the construction, lane closures will be in place, but local traffic and access to the East Lansing Public Schools will always be maintained. Alternate routes should be used for through traffic. Motorists should also note that the Burcham-Hagadorn intersection is scheduled to be fully closed to traffic the week of March 28 for the project. Detours will be in place and the intersection will be re-opened by the end of the week.
