Townsend Road repairs coming soon! Starting the week of August 14th, the city will be applying a chip seal on Townsend Road from US 127 BR to Lansing Street. Chip sealing is a low cost pavement treatment that combines layers of asphalt emulsion with layers of fine aggregate.
Aggregate is a material formed of loosely compacted stone. Once this combination is on the roadway, large rubber-tired rollers go back-and-forth on it to compact it and embed the materials.
After application, there can be a few days where dust and loose aggregate chips are present. Please contact the city offices if you have any questions or concerns.
