FOIA Request Sent to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024

FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.

As a part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government, we at DeKalb Times have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County, Illinois. The request was sent on September 26, 2024.

The FOIA request seeks detailed information about all payments made to vendors by the county from January 1, 2024, until the date of the request. Specifically, we have asked for records that include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and amount for each payment.

Access to these public records is essential for us at DeKalb Times as it allows us to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. We believe that by sharing this information with the public, we can help hold public institutions accountable and promote transparency.

As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have requested a fee waiver for this information under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. We look forward to receiving a response from Dekalb County and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
