Rep. Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 7th district, shared updates on federal funding secured for her district through a series of tweets dated December 6, 2024. These posts highlight the efforts and outcomes of Slotkin and her team in securing resources aimed at benefiting Mid-Michigan communities.

In a tweet posted on December 6, 2024, Rep. Slotkin announced that her team had secured over $60 million in federal funding for Michigan. The funds are distributed across 40 different projects within the district, which are at various stages of development. "In total, my team and I secured over $60 million in federal funding for Michigan, spread across 40 different projects in our district."

Another post from the same date provides context on how this funding was made possible by a congressional program re-established in 2021. This initiative allows members to request budget allocations for specific projects within their districts that have tangible impacts on local communities. "In 2021, Congress re-established a program to allow members to request funding in the budget for projects in their districts."

Reflecting on her role as the representative of Michigan’s 7th district, Rep. Slotkin expressed satisfaction with being able to advocate for resources that benefit Mid-Michigan. She anticipates long-term positive outcomes from these funded projects. "As #MI07’s Representative, the opportunity to advocate for and bring resources to Mid-Michigan has been one of the most gratifying parts of my job."
