Rep. Elissa Slotkin, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district, shared reflections and acknowledgments through a series of tweets recently. The tweets highlight her admiration for a fellow representative and her gratitude towards colleagues and community members who have supported her during her tenure.

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Slotkin expressed admiration for Dan Kildee, emphasizing his dedication to his hometown with the words: "One of the most common phrases you hear on Capitol Hill is Dan Kildee proudly telling someone 'I’m from Flint.' No one could embody his home town better or fight for it harder."

In another tweet posted on the same day, she shared sentiments about honoring Dan Kildee as he prepares to leave the House: "It was an honor to join his family, staff, colleagues and friends tonight to honor him as he prepares to leave the House. I’m so grateful for his friendship and wisdom, and I can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next."

Later, on December 13, 2024, Rep. Slotkin tweeted about a gathering in Lansing where she expressed appreciation for those who have assisted her throughout her congressional service: "Throughout my time in Congress, elected leaders and community members have been instrumental in assisting me and my staff. Last night I was back in Lansing to thank these hardworking folks and reflect on the last six years."
