Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan's 7th district, recently shared her insights and experiences through a series of tweets. These posts highlight her focus on key issues such as homelessness, mental health, and the operations of the U.S. Coast Guard in Michigan.

On February 1, 2025, Rep. Elissa Slotkin emphasized the importance of addressing "homelessness, housing, and mental health" during a visit to the Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis & Access Center. She expressed gratitude towards the leaders who participated in this tour. "Homelessness, housing, and mental health were top of mind — especially as we toured the very new Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis & Access Center. Thanks to all the leaders who came out!"

The following day on February 2, 2025, Slotkin highlighted her role on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC) in ensuring that the United States Coast Guard has adequate resources for its mission. She noted her visit to Traverse City Air Station in Michigan as part of these efforts: "On @HSGAC, I am tasked with ensuring @USCG has the resources they need to fulfill their mission. The Traverse City Air Station...is a critical part of that mission."

Later that day on February 2nd, she celebrated an award received by Spartan milk from Michigan State University's Dairy Store: "This award surprised no one who has been to the @dairystoreMSU. Spartan milk is the best milk!"
