Representative Elissa Slotkin, currently serving Michigan's 7th District, shared her views on several pertinent issues through a series of tweets. An advocate for Michigan agriculture and national security, Slotkin issued her statements on March 26 and 27, 2025, emphasizing her concerns on various topics.

In her tweet posted on March 26, Slotkin expressed a deep connection to the apple industry in Michigan, highlighting the impact of costs and tariffs. Slotkin stated, "Michiganders know that apples have an emotional connection to the culture of Michigan. Whether it's high input costs, including the cost of labor, or tariffs or USDA cuts, it's clear that regardless of party, we must all work to protect this historic industry and our farmers."

Later the same day, during the evening, she addressed a national security issue. Slotkin wrote about classified information disclosure, noting, "Classified, operational information was disclosed by Secretary Hegseth in the now infamous Signal chat, and it could have put lives at risk. He should own his mistakes. If the Secretary continues to refuse any responsibility, he’ll lose credibility with the force, and become a."

On March 27, Slotkin drew attention to the military significance and history of Selfridge, located in Michigan. She commented, "Selfridge has a 108 year history of protecting our nation and I am proud to have it in Michigan. Today during the Senate Armed Force Committee I talked about the importance of the Selfridge fighter mission, finding a replacement mission, and I invited Troy Meink, the nominee to."
