The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that two lanes on northbound I-75, north of US-10 in Bay County, will be closed overnight on October 27 to allow for sign work. The closures are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Monday and end by 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 28.
In addition to the lane closures, MDOT will implement intermittent rolling closures around midnight to safely remove an overhead truss sign. This activity is part of a larger $5.3 million project aimed at upgrading signs, overhead sign structures, guardrails, and delineators along I-75 from the Genesee County line north to the Bay County line and from the southern Saginaw County line north to the M-13 connector.
According to MDOT, "This work will include improving signs and other features like guardrails and delineators to increase roadway safety. Lane and shoulder closures during this type of work are necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists."
Economic modeling indicates that this investment is expected to support 51 jobs both directly and indirectly.
