Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, recently addressed key issues through her Twitter account. Slotkin, who joined Congress with a focus on healthcare reform, is involved in legislative efforts to curb drug prices and tackle pressing economic and environmental challenges affecting her constituents.

On April 1, 2025, Slotkin expressed concerns over pharmaceutical pricing. "Big Pharma has price gouged Americans for way too long, and lowering the cost of Rx drugs is literally what inspired me to run and serve in Congress. That's why I joined a bill w/ @SenCortezMasto & @SenAmyKlobuchar to hold Big Pharma accountable + get high prices under control."

Addressing economic policies, Slotkin tweeted later that same day, "For 30 years, we’ve been outsourcing our supply chains way too far, and too many Michigan workers have suffered because of it. We need a vision for a 21st-century trade policy." Slotkin urged her followers to read her plan for modernizing trade practices. The tweet highlighted the impact of outsourcing on Michigan workers and emphasized the need for updated trade strategies.

Following severe weather events, on April 2, 2025, Slotkin provided updates on storm recovery efforts in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. She stated, "After storms hit Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, I want to make sure everyone has access to resources from the state that can be helpful as utility companies actively work to remove debris and restore power.
