Senator Elissa Slotkin has taken to social media to express her views on critical issues affecting the United States. Her recent posts, shared on April 14 and April 15, 2025, tackle topics ranging from national security to healthcare disparities and civic engagement.

On April 14, Slotkin raised concerns about data collection by Chinese vehicles. She stated, "Chinese vehicles could collect video, 3D mapping & geolocation of Americans, all of which could be sent back to Beijing." The Senator emphasized the importance of nonpartisan efforts to protect U.S. citizens and expressed her intent to work across party lines to advance her legislative bill on this matter.

The following day, April 15, Slotkin highlighted the severe health disparities faced by Black mothers in Michigan. She noted, "In MI, Black moms are 2.8 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes. It’s heartbreaking, and 100% preventable." Slotkin underscored her support for the Momnibus Act aimed at addressing these disparities, particularly during Black Maternal Health Week.

Later the same day, Slotkin shared her experiences engaging with students visiting Washington, D.C. She described this as one of her favorite aspects of her role, writing, "One of the absolute best things I get to do as a Senator is speak to students on their first trip to DC." She recounted discussions with students from Brighton and Capac Jr. High School, who posed insightful questions about the legislative process.

Elissa Slotkin is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Michigan’s 7th district. She replaced previous U.S. Congress member Mike Bishop in 2019. Since then, she has been active in advocating for various national and local issues.
