Senator Elissa Slotkin, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th District, has recently shared several updates on Twitter reflecting her stance on national defense and state achievements. Having replaced former member Mike Bishop in 2019, Slotkin has recently commented on issues concerning military leadership and border security.

On April 21, 2025, Senator Slotkin shared a post encouraging the public to access and read documentation she referenced, stating, "Read for yourself here: https://t.co/xmFDIcpFAD".

In another post on the same day, Slotkin criticized leadership within the Pentagon. She stated, "You can’t turn chicken shit into chicken salad. As Hegseth’s staffer is now telling the world, Hegseth has turned the Pentagon into a place of chaos. Our military and our country deserve serious leaders. If he cared about the institution he’s leading, he should man up."

On April 22, 2025, she shared her visit to a key border point in Michigan, indicating the state's continued efforts in maintaining an effective border. She remarked, "Michigan continues to lead the way on what a strong, vibrant, and functional border looks like. Yesterday, I visited the @CBP at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron — one of the northern border’s busiest ports of entry for trade, travel, and security. They seized 1,400 lbs of https://t.co/FhNfXz40v7".
