Senator Elissa Slotkin, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 7th District, has recently shared several updates on Twitter reflecting her stance on national defense and state achievements. Having replaced former member Mike Bishop in 2019, Slotkin has recently commented on issues concerning military leadership and border security.

In another post on the same day, Slotkin criticized leadership within the Pentagon. She stated, "You can’t turn chicken shit into chicken salad. As Hegseth’s staffer is now telling the world, Hegseth has turned the Pentagon into a place of chaos. Our military and our country deserve serious leaders. If he cared about the institution he’s leading, he should man up."
On April 22, 2025, she shared her visit to a key border point in Michigan, indicating the state's continued efforts in maintaining an effective border. Slotkin, who resides in Lansing, was born in New York City in 1976 and graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
