Senator Elissa Slotkin, a representative of Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared her thoughts and advice through social media posts. These messages reflect her engagement with constituents and offer insights into her views on education and civic involvement.

On May 4, 2025, Senator Slotkin extended her congratulations to the graduates of the Ford School. She encouraged them by saying "Congratulations to the 2025 @fordschool graduates (and their loved ones)! As I said today, I urge you to see yourselves as part of this American arc of history. You're now part of a long tradition of making our democracy more perfect. This school prepared you well."

The following day, May 5, 2025, she urged individuals not to disengage from important matters with a brief message: "Don't tune out."

Later that same day, Slotkin advised those looking to become active in public affairs to focus on economic issues affecting citizens' finances: "If you want to get engaged, get engaged on the issues that impact people's pocketbooks."

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
