On May 6, 2025, Senator Slotkin expressed her support for the Michigan National Guard's ongoing efforts. She stated that "The @MINationalGuard has been at the forefront of protecting our homeland and defending America abroad, and this will ensure that they will continue to do so for decades to come."
Later that day, Slotkin acknowledged the presence of a local official by posting "I also want to thank @MarkHackel for being there yesterday." The tweet indicates appreciation for Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel's participation in an unspecified event.
In another post from May 6, 2025, Senator Slotkin recounted her experience speaking at a commencement ceremony for graduates of the Ford School of Public Policy. Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
