Congressman Tom Barrett has recently shared several updates on his social media platform, addressing various initiatives and engagements. His tweets reflect a focus on community safety, energy solutions, and educational opportunities for students.

On May 11, Congressman Barrett marked the commencement of National Police Week by urging people to honor law enforcement officers. He expressed appreciation for their dedication and service in maintaining community safety. "Today marks the beginning of National Police Week! I hope you’ll join me in taking a moment to honor the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect and serve. Our communities are safer and stronger because of them."

Later that day, Barrett reported on his meeting with the Michigan Conservative Energy Forum (MI_CEF). The discussion centered around advancing comprehensive energy strategies that emphasize affordability, reliability, and independence for American energy. He acknowledged MI_CEF's efforts in promoting progress within Michigan's energy sector. "This week, I met with the @MI_CEF to discuss advancing commonsense, all-of-the-above energy solutions that prioritize affordability, reliability, and American energy independence. Grateful for their work to keep Michigan moving forward!"

On May 12, Barrett announced the opening of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge aimed at middle and high school students in mid-Michigan. This initiative encourages young individuals to showcase their coding abilities by developing applications that could be recognized by Congress. "The 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now open! Middle and high school students in mid-Michigan are invited to show off their coding skills, build something great, and compete to have their app recognized by Congress."
