Her remarks were centered around the potential risks associated with foreign access to sensitive production processes and highlighted ongoing events in Congress.

On May 12, 2025, Senator Slotkin referenced past incidents involving "exploding beepers" to emphasize the potential consequences of foreign access during production. She stated that "Having access during the production of such a sensitive asset can have real consequences."

In another tweet from the same day, she elaborated on the vulnerabilities posed by foreign involvement in production processes. She warned that such situations could leave assets susceptible to manipulation through various means. Slotkin noted that "The idea that a foreign country would have access, as the buyer, during production, leaves it incredibly vulnerable to bugs, tracking devices, and whatever else they or other countries may attempt to manipulate."

On May 14, 2025, Senator Slotkin acknowledged Police Week in Congress. She highlighted the presence of numerous law enforcement representatives from across the nation, including members of the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Association. In her words: "It's Police Week here in Congress, and the legions of law enforcement from across the country are in town." This event included participation from federal agencies spanning various sectors.

Elissa Slotkin has been serving in U.S. Congress since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing at age 46, she is an alumna of Cornell University with a Bachelor’s degree obtained in 1998.
