On May 21, Congressman Barrett announced that the House had passed nine bipartisan bills to aid veterans, including his own ASSIST Act. He emphasized the importance of Washington's responsibility to those who have served in the military. Barrett expressed pride in the potential impact of these bills, stating "This week the House passed 9 bipartisan bills to support veterans, including my ASSIST Act.
