Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who has represented Michigan’s 7th District in the U.S. Congress since 2019, addressed recent policy actions by the Trump administration and international relations in a series of tweets posted on July 14, 2025.
In her first tweet at 21:00 UTC, Slotkin criticized President Trump's proposed legislation regarding health care funding. She stated, "Another way President Trump's bill attacks your health care. It eliminates funding for women's health care at Planned Parenthood."
One hour later, at 22:00 UTC, Slotkin commented on the timing of health care cuts enacted by the Trump administration. She wrote, "The Trump Administration purposefully made all these devastating health care cuts AFTER the midterms. They know what these cuts will do to people, and they don't want to pay the price for it."
At 22:14 UTC on the same day, Slotkin shifted focus to foreign policy and expressed her views on U.S.-Russia relations under President Trump. She said, "Glad that President Trump has arrived at the conclusion that Putin cannot be trusted. Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.
