Slotkin, who replaced Mike Bishop in 2019 and holds a BA from Cornell University, shared her perspectives on bipartisan action regarding Russia sanctions and discussed the impact of new federal legislation.

On July 14, 2025, Slotkin expressed optimism about congressional cooperation to address Russian aggression.
