On July 14, 2025, Slotkin commented on recent violence in the Middle East, stating: "Another violent week in the Middle East: in Gaza, this weekend brought the death of another 60 Palestinians who were simply seeking food and water for their families. Israel has the responsibility to allow humanitarian aid in — just as the US had the responsibility to allow aid".

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and graduated from Cornell University with a BA in 1998. She succeeded Mike Bishop as representative of Michigan’s 7th district.
