Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Senator representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, recently shared updates on social media regarding community concerns and Senate activities.

On July 18, 2025, Slotkin posted about the impact of federal policy changes on local families. She wrote: "Melissa, from Davison, works with families who rely on SNAP to meet their nutritional needs. She lost her job because of Trump Administration cuts, and she is worried about hungry kids."

Later that day, Slotkin highlighted a lighter moment in the Senate by sharing: "We kicked off our first National Hot Dog Day in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday. Here’s what Michiganders had to say." In a follow-up post the same day, she added: "We asked the big question. What do you put on your hot dog?"

Elissa Slotkin has served as a congressional representative for Michigan’s 7th District since 2019 after replacing Mike Bishop. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, she graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
