The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that a single lane on westbound I-94 in Jackson County will be closed for utility work on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The closure will take place between Hawkins Road and Elm Avenue in the Jackson area.

According to MDOT, the lane closure is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to end by 3 p.m. the same day. The department has issued a permit to NTH for this utility work.

During the operation, motorists traveling through this section of I-94 should anticipate delays due to the single-lane restriction. MDOT stated, "Closing a lane will ensure the safety of utility workers and motorists."

The affected stretch of highway serves as an important route in Jackson County, and drivers are advised to plan accordingly during the hours of construction.
