Contractors working for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will conduct corrective warranty repairs on M-28 in Munising, Alger County. The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, and is expected to finish by the end of the day.

During the repairs, both eastbound and westbound lanes of M-28 will be closed between Cedar Street and Elm Avenue. Eastbound traffic will be detoured using Elm Avenue and East Superior Street before returning to M-28. Westbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse. Traffic on H-58 (East Munising Avenue) will be rerouted onto Mill Street.

According to MDOT, "This project will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the roadway."
