The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced overnight lane closures and rolling closures on southbound I-75 north of US-10 in Bay County to allow for sign work. The closures are scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, and are expected to end by 5 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
This project is part of a $5.3 million investment aimed at upgrading signs, overhead sign structures, guardrails, and delineators along I-75 from the Genesee County line north to the Bay County line and from the southern Saginaw County line north to the M-13 connector.
A double-lane closure will be implemented on southbound I-75 during this period. In addition, intermittent rolling closures will take place around midnight to ensure the safe removal of an overhead truss sign.
According to MDOT, "This work will include improving signs and other features like guardrails and delineators to increase roadway safety. Lane and shoulder closures during this type of work are necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists."
Economic modeling indicates that this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 51 jobs.
