The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that it will close the northbound US-127 ramp to eastbound I-96 and conduct intermittent closures on US-127 between Holt Road and I-96 for sign truss installation. The work is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2025, and continue until 5 a.m. on Friday, October 10, in Lansing.
The closures are expected to impact traffic in Ingham County, specifically affecting the area near Lansing. The project will require closing the northbound US-127 ramp to eastbound I-96 and implementing two 15-minute intermittent closures of northbound US-127 between Holt Road and I-96 during the specified hours. The Michigan State Police will be responsible for maintaining traffic control throughout the operation.
Motorists traveling through this area should expect delays during the construction period.
According to MDOT, "This work will provide improved signs along the US-127 corridor. Closing lanes will provide a safe work zone for workers and motorists."
The project aims to enhance safety by upgrading signage along this section of highway while ensuring protection for both workers and drivers during construction activities.
