The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will conduct inspections on the Heath M. Robinson Memorial Cut River Bridge along US-2 in Mackinac County from October 27 to October 31. During this period, US-2 will be closed at the bridge, and traffic will be rerouted via Cut River Road and Prater Boulevard. The speed limit on the detour route will be set at 45 mph, and no over-width permits will be issued for vehicles traveling through the detour.

MDOT stated that the closure is necessary to allow for a detailed inspection of the bridge. The work includes survey scanning, reach-all inspections, and soil borings. According to MDOT, these inspections are intended to "help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the bridge."
