Senator Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 7th district since 2019, posted a series of tweets on November 7, 2025, addressing concerns about secret lists, legal protections for officers, and legislative updates.

In her first tweet at 12:30 p.m. UTC, Slotkin questioned the implications of being named on undisclosed lists: "What does it mean if your name is on this secret list? What’s going to come after you?".

Later that day at 2:08 p.m. UTC, she commented on the legal anxieties faced by younger officers in relation to potentially unlawful actions: "It’s crazy when young officers up and down the chain are seeking legal cover so they don’t get sued one day for what could be illegal strikes."

At 3:12 p.m. UTC, Slotkin outlined topics covered in her intelligence briefing: "There is a lot going on this week. And in my Intel Briefing, I go deep on three important topics.

The shutdown, health care and court orders for the President to pay SNAP benefits.

My legislation, the No Troops in Our Street Act

Banning the Presidential pardon".

Elissa Slotkin was born in New York City in 1976 and currently resides in Lansing. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998. Since replacing Mike Bishop in Congress in 2019, Slotkin has been active on issues ranging from national security to social welfare programs.
