City of Lansing recently issued the following announcement.
Mayor Andy Schor today announced that the City of Lansing has partnered with Lansing for Cesar E. Chavez, a nonprofit organization whose goal is to preserve the legacy of Cesar E. Chavez, to apply for a Consumers Energy Foundation Prosperity Award.
The Consumers Energy Foundation is looking for projects that would improve the welfare of whole communities, specifically for neighborhood revitalization and arts and culture. A permanent stage would allow for additional community events that would help attract residents and visitors to the Old Town commercial area and neighborhood.
The application will be reviewed by the Consumers Energy Foundation’s Board of Directors and Lansing for Cesar E. Chavez will be notified whether their grant proposal has been accepted or declined for the next round of consideration by the end of July.
