City Office, Service Hours for Thanksgiving Holiday

Many City of Midland offices and services will be closed or operating under alternate hours on November 24 – 25 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All City offices and non-emergency services will be closed on Thursday, November 24 (Thanksgiving Day). City offices and most services will remain closed on Friday, November 25.

Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) and the Midland Civic Arena will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but both will maintain normal service hours on Friday, November 25; Saturday, November 26; and Sunday, November 27. 

The Grace A. Dow Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23 and will be remain closed Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, November 27. It will reopen to regular hours on Monday, November 28.

Refuse and recycling will not be collected on Thursday, November 24 or Friday, November 25. Residents with Thursday, November 24 refuse and Thursday Week 3 recycling collections should place items at the curb on Wednesday, November 23.  Friday, November 25 refuse and Friday Week 3 recycling collections will take place on Monday, November 28.  Place refuse and recycling at the curb by 7:30 a.m. to ensure collection.

The City’s Sanitary Landfill will be closed Thanksgiving Day. The Landfill will be open Friday, November 25 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturday, November 26 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. November 26 will be the last Saturday morning Landfill hours in 2022.

Jack Barstow Municipal Airport will be unattended on Thanksgiving Day and Friday, November 25, but will operate as normal on Saturday and Sunday.
