State Representative Luke Meerman has been elected by his peers to serve as an Assistant Floor Leader in the Michigan House for the 2025-26 legislative session. In this capacity, Meerman will assist in guiding the legislative agenda of the Republicans during House sessions and ensure adherence to parliamentary procedures and House rules.

"I have great respect for the legislative process and I’m honored to be given the opportunity by my fellow Republican caucus members to ensure that proper procedures are maintained as we deliberate over and vote on policy matters for the people of Michigan," said Meerman.

Meerman has been a member of the Michigan Legislature since 2018. Prior to his current role, he served as a Polkton Township trustee and was vice president of the Ottawa County Farm Bureau. During his tenure, he has advocated for issues such as education, school safety, national security, and economic opportunity.

Representing Michigan’s 89th House District, Meerman's jurisdiction includes various townships across Ottawa County, Muskegon County, and part of Kent County. He remains committed to policies that benefit families, small businesses, and overall community prosperity.
