Representative Elissa Slotkin, currently serving Michigan's 7th district in the U.S. Congress, shared her recent activities on Twitter on February 1, 2025. Slotkin, who was born in New York City and graduated from Cornell University, replaced Mike Bishop in Congress in 2019.
On February 1st, Rep. Slotkin tweeted about her morning activities: "Started my day in Traverse City at a veterans’ round table. Now that I’ve been named to the @SVACDems, these are the kinds of meetings I’ll be having more frequently to get a sense of what legislation and support our local organizations and the VA needs to support their veterans."
Later that day, she expressed her enjoyment of a local market: "Nothing bad about a Saturday morning at the @thevillagetc in Traverse City. When it’s too cold for an outdoor market, having one inside the region’s most historic complex can’t be beat."
In another tweet posted on the same date, Rep. Slotkin thanked local leaders for their collaboration: "Thanks to local Grand Traverse leaders who came together on a Saturday to walk me through the biggest issues in this most unique of areas in the state."
