Rep. Elissa Slotkin, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan's 7th district since 2019, recently expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, Slotkin has been active in politics following her graduation from Cornell University with a BA in 1998.

On February 7, 2025, Rep. Slotkin addressed the responsibilities of senior government employees regarding financial disclosures. She stated that "If Musk is serving as a senior govt employee, he needs to follow the law and file a financial disclosure. This is how we ensure no conflict of interest — as in making decisions that help your own interests instead of those of your adopted country." Her comments highlight concerns about potential conflicts of interest involving China.

The following day, on February 8, 2025, Rep. Slotkin turned her attention to international relations by affirming the strong partnership between the United States and Kosovo. She tweeted "The United States and Kosovo have an enduring partnership rooted in shared democratic values and friendship." Slotkin emphasized support for Kosovo's right to free and fair elections as its citizens prepared to vote.
