Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan's 7th District since 2019, recently shared her thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. These posts provide insight into her views on stem cell research, government efficiency, and the impact of federal decisions on local communities.

On February 9, 2025, Rep. Slotkin highlighted the importance of several scientific fields by stating that focus should be maintained "specifically in the competitive areas of stem cell research, drug design, infectious disease treatment, cancer immunotherapy, gene therapy and personalized medicine." The tweet can be viewed here.

In another post dated February 11, 2025, she addressed concerns about government efficiency with a cautionary note: "Government efficiency is one thing, but it should be targeted: we shouldn’t hollow out fields like flight safety instructors or the people thwart national security threats." The full tweet is available here.

Later that day on February 11, Rep. Slotkin expressed her commitment to understanding local impacts of federal changes by visiting West Michigan. She remarked: "What happens in Washington impacts all of us. I was glad to visit West Michigan to meet local leaders from govt., non-profits, health care, and agriculture about how the dramatic changes in DC impact folks on the ground and how we can work together to stand up for Michigan." This statement can be accessed here.
