Senator Elissa Slotkin, currently representing Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on July 30, 2025, highlighting her views on artificial intelligence, Congressional stock trading, and efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In a post at 12:01 p.m., Slotkin commented on the transformative impact of new technologies: "Artificial intelligence has the potential to change our economy more than the internet did."

Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since 2019 after succeeding Mike Bishop. She was born in New York City in 1976 and resides in Lansing. Her academic background includes graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998.
