On August 7, 2025, Barrett posted about Purple Heart recipients: "Today we honor the brave men and women who received the Purple Heart in recognition of the tremendous sacrifices they made defending our freedom. While we can never fully repay the debt we owe these heroes, our grateful nation will never forget their courage and selfless service."

The following day, August 8, he commented on recent tax legislation: "The vast majority of Americans agree: making the 2017 tax cuts permanent for working families was the right thing to do. The One Big Beautiful Bill prevented the largest tax hike in American history and will allow you to keep more of your money in your pockets."
