Congressman Tom Barrett highlighted recent legislative efforts and their local impact in a series of social media posts on August 20, 2025. The posts focused on the effects of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" and its implications for Michigan workers, small businesses, and community events.

In his first post, Barrett stated: "Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill, 'Made in America' is more than just a slogan, it’s a way of life. I’m proud to have @SBA_Kelly in Michigan today to show her how this historic legislation is helping us build, innovate, and finally lead the way once again." (August 20, 2025).

Later that day, Barrett visited South 401 in Corunna alongside SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman (@SBA_Kelly), discussing tax relief for service workers. He wrote: "No tax on tips is a huge win for restaurant staff at South 401 in Corunna and other service workers. @SBA_Kelly and I enjoyed stopping in for lunch this afternoon for a quick conversation about how this tax relief in the One Big Beautiful Bill is making a real difference for" (August 20, 2025).

Concluding his day's activities, Barrett attended an event at Owosso Speedway after participating in a small-business roundtable with Guzman. He shared: "From Main Street to the fast lane: Thanks to @SBA_Kelly for an incredible visit to the track today after our small-business roundtable, as well as the entire team at @OwossoSpeedway for hosting us. Good luck to all the drivers racing tonight in the Michigan 300! " (August 20, 2025).

The "One Big Beautiful Bill," referenced throughout Barrett's posts, aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing by encouraging products made within the United States and providing targeted tax relief measures such as eliminating taxes on tips received by service industry employees. These provisions are intended to support American workers and foster economic growth.

Isabel Guzman serves as Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), which supports entrepreneurs through loan programs and advocacy efforts.
