On August 22, 2025, Barrett wrote about his meeting with Westphalia Village President Tim Fandel: "I had a great meeting with Westphalia Village President Tim Fandel this week. I appreciate hearing from local leaders and working together to ensure that rural communities have access to the resources and infrastructure they need."

The following day, August 23, 2025, Barrett shared his experience visiting OLHSA Community Action: "I appreciated the opportunity to visit the @OLHSACommAction this week. It was great to hear from their incredible team about how they bring communities together to lift families out of poverty, and I look forward to continuing to work together to serve the people of mid-Michigan."

Later on August 23, Barrett posted about discussions at Owosso Speedway regarding economic issues affecting small businesses: "Thanks to @HallidayMaureen for talking with @SBA_Kelly and me at the @OwossoSpeedway about how we’re lowering taxes and cutting red tape to help small businesses overcome challenges and thrive."
