Congressman Tom Barrett, who represents Michigan’s 7th congressional district, recently shared updates on his activities across the state in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).
On August 29, 2025, Barrett highlighted his visit to an energy facility and a town hall event with industry leaders. He wrote, ".@Enbridge helps deliver the fuel that powers our factories and keeps our lights on. This week, I toured their state-of-the-art oil storage terminal in Stockbridge and held an energy town hall with @APIenergy and other leaders from Michigan’s energy industry. Later that day, Barrett posted about a meeting focused on veterans’ issues. On August 29, 2025, he stated, "I had a great time at the VFW National Home yesterday where I hosted a productive conversation with leaders of veterans organizations that serve mid-Michigan. We discussed needs for better transition support for veterans and fair treatment for the qualified service of reservists https://t.co/BnMdMBwac6".
The following day, August 30, 2025, Barrett expressed appreciation for local retail workers during a visit to Walmart in Charlotte. He posted, "Thank you to the hardworking team at the @Walmart store in Charlotte for giving me a behind-the-scenes look into their role in our community. I appreciated seeing the Michigan-grown products they sell and learning more about Walmart’s programs that help staff develop new skills https://t.co/qcDuwMWRFN".
Barrett has served as U.S. Representative since January 2023 after previously serving in both chambers of Michigan's state legislature.
