Sen. Elissa Slotkin, currently representing Michigan’s 7th district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on September 4, 2025, addressing topics ranging from national security to Middle East policy and domestic issues.

In her first post of the day, Slotkin announced an upcoming speech at the Council on Foreign Relations: "Tomorrow, I will deliver a speech on a new vision for America’s national security at the Council on Foreign Relations and call for the U.S. government to prioritize our national security infrastructure around middle-class economics. Tune in: https://t.co/WYYKU6P7Rm" (September 4, 2025).

Later that afternoon, she commented on proposals regarding Gaza: "Giving airtime to a 'Gaza Riviera' plan is unserious, counterproductive and threatens to drag out this conflict. And I don’t know many Americans who are looking to take the lead in another war zone in the Middle East. https://t.co/pwQB2eQneA" (September 4, 2025).

In her final post of the evening, Slotkin highlighted three current priorities through her regular update called "Intel Briefing": "We're back with our Intel Briefing, where we go deep on a few issues I am following closely:

The rising cost health care and my priorities in the government funding bill

The National Guard in American cities

The President's attack on mail-in voting https://t.co/SlfPfBuQMh" (September 4, 2025).

Elissa Slotkin has represented Michigan’s 7th District since replacing Mike Bishop in 2019. Born in New York City in 1976 and currently residing in Lansing, she holds a BA from Cornell University.
