Southbound Saginaw Road/Dixie Highway near I-75 in Clarkston, Michigan, will be closed from 10 a.m. on Friday, October 3, to 5 a.m. on Monday, October 6, for culvert repairs as part of the ongoing I-75 road and bridge project between M-15 (Ortonville Road) and the Oakland/Genesee county line. The closure is dependent on weather conditions.
During this period, traffic will be detoured using westbound Baldwin Road, southbound Holly Road, and eastbound Grange Hall Road to reach I-75 and Dixie Highway. An alternate route includes westbound Baldwin Road and northbound Holly Road to I-75.
Currently, both directions of I-75 are reduced to two lanes between Baldwin Road and Clarkston Road. Several exit ramps from southbound I-75—specifically exits 106 (Dixie Highway/Saginaw Road), 98 (East Holly Road), 93 (US-24/Dixie Highway), and 91 (M-15)—are closed until late fall. Entrance ramps at East Holly Road to northbound I-75; northbound Dixie Highway/Saginaw Road (Grand Blanc Township) to northbound I-75; southbound Saginaw Road to southbound I-75; Grange Hall Road to southbound I-75; East Holly Road to southbound I-75; southbound US-24 (Dixie Highway) to southbound I-75; northbound US-24 (Dixie Highway) to southbound I-75; and southbound M-15 to southbound I-75 are also closed until late fall.
The overall work for this year is expected to finish in early November. In 2026, crews plan to remove temporary crossovers and complete remaining activities.
Funding for the project comes from Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan program. This initiative focuses on rebuilding state highways and bridges that are important for Michigan’s economy by targeting repairs that extend infrastructure lifespan and improve conditions across the state.
According to economic modeling related to the project’s funding strategy, approximately 1,936 jobs are anticipated to be supported directly or indirectly by this investment.
